Things feel better than before.
My ex and I are talking again. But it feels really different this time. He’s been sweet and considerate, and we’ve both agreed that we don’t want to repeat the mistakes we’ve made before.
I don’t think either of us knows what to expect from it this time. But I really want to be able to think of him as a friend, if that’s the only way to keep him in my life. And after everything we’ve been through, I think he really does want to be in it. We’re going to meet for a drink and catch up soon; we’re going to see each other for the first time in over a year. And for the first time in a really long time, I don’t feel any crazy urge to flip shit on him. I feel good about it, and he’s being great.
